2024/25 County Fiscal Strategy Paper Public Participation for Kapsaos Ward

Residents of Kapsaos Ward, Turbo Sub-County had a chance to share their proposals for the County Fiscal Strategy Paper, in a forum held on Thursday at the Ward Office in Maili Nne, Turbo Sub-County.

The forum led by the County Executive for Roads Eng. Joseph Lagat captured views from the public on priority development areas which will be included in the budget for the upcoming development initiatives by Governor Dr. Jonathan Bii, EGH-led administration.

During the exercise, the residents led by Winnie Mburu, Hassan Hussein, and Levy Ouma thanked the County Government for the achievements in projects implemented under the 2023/24 financial year which included the drilling of boreholes at Teldet, Kapyemit and Emkoin areas.

We are very grateful because for the first time in history, boreholes have been drilled in Teldet and Emkoin. We now have sufficient supply of water,” said Jane Musa.

In addition, they expressed gratitude for the construction of the ablution block at Kapsaos dispensary, the completion of buildings at Kapkeben and Kapsaos dispensaries, the distribution of 100 Dorper sheep under the Mzee na Dorper program, allocation of over Ksh 1.5 Million for Emsos Estate ECDE and Sirikwa Quarry ECDE.

To further support games tournaments for youth, Ksh 1 million from the Governor benefited twenty women groups, grading and gravelling of Kapsaos, Kapkoros, St. James, RCEA Lamaiywet, and Kapyemit roads among others.

Kapsaos ward project proposals

Their proposals for 2024/25 included;

  • Allocation of funds for Resource Centre/Digital Hub
  • Construction of public utilities.
  • Funds for street lighting and high masts maintenance and installation.
  • Empowerment programs for widows and persons disabled differently.
  • Construction of a vocational training centre.
  • Purchase of a fire engine at Maili Nne Fire Station
