Eldoret town is fast expanding and it is tipped to become Kenya’s fifth city in the near future, affirming its position as a suitable place of doing business and a key hub in the North Rift region.
There is still room for improvement in Eldoret, and we take a look at shopping malls in this ‘City of Champions’;
Rupa’s Mall
Today, Eldoret town has only three malls. Rupa’s Mall is the biggest among the three. It is located along the Eldoret-Nakuru highway, a few kilometers from Eldoret town center.
Rupa’s Mall was officially opened in 2017.
It hosts several prestigious hotels and restaurants like American fast food restaurant KFC, Java House, Big Square, fully stocked Chandarana Foodplus supermarket, Woolworths, beauty joints, car wash, groceries, and several banks like KCB and Standard Chartered.
Rupa’s Mall is kids friendly as it has a kids zone, swimming pool, Rupa’s fitness center, and Rupa’s cinema. When it comes to hospitality, the mall has the luxurious Eka Hotel – one of the five-star hotels in Eldoret and lounges like Zaika and Laiska.
Security at the mall is guaranteed, alongside spacious parking.
Zion Mall
Zion mall is located in Eldoret town center, just opposite Barng’etun plaza, one of the oldest buildings in the town.
It was opened in 2011, making it the oldest shopping mall.
It hosts Naivas supermarket, multiple insurance companies, hotels like Baker’s Point, clothing shops, and a branch of Aga Khan Hospital. It also has several beauty shops, Banks, and auto express alongside The Eldoret National Polytechnic Eldoret Town Campus.
Highlands Mall
This is the newest mall in Eldoret. It is located on the western side of Eldoret, along the Eldoret-Webuye road.
Highlands Mall hosts a Chicken inn, Pizza inn, opticians, Saccos, and insurance companies.
This mall helps in the expansion of the town.
Aside from the shopping malls, Eldoret also has a number of business centers among them Elgon View Business Centre located within the leafy Elgon View estate, Petresha/Berur Business Center, Kalyet mall along Elija Cheruiyot street, 64 Arcade famous for selling computers and other electronics and FCC Plaza.
