Summary of the 2022/23 Financial Year Budget Estimates

Treasury Cabinet Secretary on Thursday, April 7, 2022, presented to the National Parliament a budget statement for the financial year 2022/2023.

The Ksh3.1 trillion budget was presented earlier due to the upcoming general election scheduled for August 9, 2022.

  • Nairobi Metropolitan Services – Ksh14.4 billion
  • Parliament – Ksh50.2 billion
  • Judiciary – 18.9 billion
  • Counties – Ksh370 billion
  • Universal Health Care – Ksh62.3 billion
  • Manufacturing – Ksh10.1 billion
  • Food and Nutrition Security – Ksh46.8 billion
  • Affordable Housing – Ksh27.7 billion
  • Kazi Mtaani – Ksh2.1 billion
  • Education – Ksh513 billion
  • Ministry of Defense – Ksh128.4 billion
  • National Intelligence Services (NIS) – Ksh46.4 billion
  • Kenya Police and Kenya Prisons Services – 2 billion
  • IEBC – Ksh9 billion

This is the last budget under the Jubilee government
