Another Batch of Relief Food under Uasin Gishu Save a Life Initiative Flagged Off

Another batch of relief food collected under Uasin Gishu Save a Life Initiative was on Tuesday flagged off by CECM Road Eng Joseph Lagat and his Health counterpart Dr Sam Kotut.

The two CECMs represented Governor Jonathan Bii in flagging off the food collected by churches within Kamuyu and Rukuini areas.

Speaking during the exercise at the county headquarters in Eldoret town, Eng. Lagat thanked the churches for heading to Governor Chelilim’s call for supporting the initiative.

Similar sentiments were shared by the Health CECM Dr Sam Kotut who said the county was still receiving donations from well-wishers to support Kenyans facing hunger.

Uasin Gishu Road CECM Eng Joseph Lagat speaks during the event on December 27, 2022.

Pastor Peter Gituri who led a team of church leaders that mobilized the collection of the relief food thanked Governor Chelilim for providing them with a vehicle to transport the food.

We have about 35 bags of food that we’re taking to Marigat as that is where we felt the neediest people were. We expected to deliver before Christmas but had challenges in transport,” said Pastor Gituri.

About two weeks, Governor Chelilim flagged off food and non-food items collected under the Save a Life Initiative that benefited about 5,000 locals within Turkana County.
