In a significant move towards enhancing the development and well-being of its residents, Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya has announced plans to transform the current County Hall into a state-of-the-art public library, recreation park, and cultural centre.
Equipped with modern ICT infrastructure, including Wi-Fi connectivity, the new facility aims to uplift the status of the county and promote access to information.
Speaking on Monday during the groundbreaking ceremony for the ultramodern county headquarters in Kitale, Governor Natembeya emphasized his administration’s commitment to bringing vital facilities closer to the people.
Recognizing the importance of devolution in providing convenient services to the citizens, the governor highlighted the need to consolidate all county services under one roof.
The new headquarters will centralize various offices, ensuring efficient service delivery to the residents.

Additionally, the county government plans to construct sub-county offices to further decentralize services and make them easily accessible to the people.
This initiative aligns with the objective of devolution, which seeks to bring governance closer to the grassroots level.
The governor also assured the completion of ongoing projects initiated by the previous administration, including the construction of the Trans Nzoia Teaching and Referral Hospital (TTRH).
With the hospital equipped with essential medical equipment, residents will no longer need to travel long distances to seek specialized healthcare, relieving the burden on facilities in neighbouring Eldoret.
Furthermore, the county government aims to foster economic growth by completing the construction of the modern bus park. This initiative will create opportunities for local businesspersons, contributing to the overall development of the county.

Encouraging community support, the governor urged residents to take advantage of the NAWIRI FUND, a financial resource available to boost local businesses.
Assuring transparency in the fund’s management, the governor called upon residents to apply and utilize the opportunity to enhance their entrepreneurial endeavours.
The groundbreaking ceremony witnessed the presence of guests, including the county’s women MP, Lilian Siyoi, and various leaders from the community and political sphere.
