Eldoret: Kiporgot, Annex to Experience Two-Day Interruption of Water Supply

The Eldoret Water and Sanitation Company (Eldowas) has announced planned routine maintenance on its Naiberi Water Treatment Plant.

According to a public notice shared on the company’s official social media pages, the maintenance will see an interruption of water supply from the plant.

This means residential estates that depend on water from the plant will have their supply interrupted.

Some of the estates that will be affected by the planned routine maintenance are Kipkorgot and Annex areas.

The interruption will be for two days – Tuesday as well as Wednesday.

This is to let our customers from Kipkorgot, Annex areas and their respective environs know that the supply from Naiberi Water Treatment will be interrupted on Tuesday 4th April 2023 and Wednesday 5th April 2023 from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm,” read part of the Eldowas notice signed off by the Peter Kibet Arap Biwott, the Managing Director.

The interruption is to allow for routine maintenance work,” it added.

Eldowas further said it was sorry for the inconveniences that the maintenance will cause its customers.

The company supplies water to customers within the Eldoret Municipality.

Aside from the Naiberi Water Treatment Plant, Eldowas also has the Chebara plant which supplies water to a majority of Eldoret estates.

There are also ongoing construction works on two other plants – Kipkaren and Two-Rivers Dam that once complete, water shortage and rationing that customers have to bear with will come to an end.

Currently, the company produces about 43 million cubic metres of water on a daily basis compared to a daily demand of 60 million cubic metres.
