Uasin Gishu County Executive Committee Member for Roads, Transport and Public Works, Eng Joseph Lagat, has assured residents that all ongoing road projects under Governor Jonathan Bii’s leadership will be implemented across all wards and completed on time.
On Monday, a team from the Department assessed the 5 kilometres of St Georges – Chepkumia – EATEC Road in Simat Kapseret Ward, Kapseret Sub County, which is among the roads that were earmarked for construction.
Works along the road will include gravelling, grading, bush clearing, the opening of drainage lines, as well as the installation of culverts.

The team which was led by Deputy Director Eng. Linus Yego also assured the residents that the project will be done in the shortest time possible.
Further, the residents led by Pastor Moses Koech and area Development and Infrastructure chairman, Mr. David Belio, said that improvement of the road is crucial because it’s used by dairy farmers to transport milk to the milk cooler operated by Chepkatet Cooperative Society.
“We want to sincerely thank Governor Bii for sending you to the ground to assess the situation, this is a very important road in our area,” Mr Belio said.
“We are also hopeful that the work will be completed on time,” adds Mr Belio.

Elsewhere, residents of Randich in Simat/Kapseret Ward expressed satisfaction with the quality and speed at which the county team has been implementing projects in the area.
