New Dining Hall, Kitchen Commissioned at Eldoret Children’s Rescue Centre

The County Government of Uasin Gishu in partnership with the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Wednesday commissioned the Eldoret Children’s Rescue Centre dining hall and kitchen which is set to serve 187 children.

Speaking while gracing the event, Governor Jonathan Bii welcomed other stakeholders to partner with the rescue centre fraternity in changing the lives of the children.

He added that the County will register the institution to be a training center and be the 13th among the other 12 Vocational Training Centres across the County to help the children gain practical skills in their career path.

On his part, Deputy Governor Eng. John Barorot encouraged the community to collaborate in helping the children and assist them to have a good future.

Earlier, the Uasin Gishu County Governor together with Deputy Governor had hosted the President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Mr David Sturt with his team who paid a courtesy visit at the County Headquarters.

Governor Bii signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the president to construct a girls’ dormitory at the Eldoret Children’s Rescue Centre which is set to commence and be completed by 30th December this year.

Deputy Governor Eng. John Barorot further called on partnerships with other well-wishers to the noble course and support the less fortunate children.
