Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has sent a message to political leaders allied to the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition following a successful visit to Bomet and Kericho counties.
Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga and his running mate Martha Karua, on Sunday, July 10, 2022, pitched camp in the two counties, considered Deputy President William Ruto’s political bastion.
Odinga and his team, however, received a heroic welcome and saw their rallies well attended by locals.

And following the visit, the Kapseret MP noted that it had no cases of chaos or stone-throwing, unlike the Kenya Kwanza past rallies in regions perceived to be allied to Azimio.
Sudi challenged the Azimio leadership to also reign in on their supporters to be accommodative of politicians from opposing camps.
He noted that Raila and his Azimio team have now had a successful visit to DP Ruto’s strongholds without any incidences of chaos.
“There have been very successful Azimio rallies in Iten, Eldoret, Kericho and Bomet. However, we ask our competitors in Azimio to tell their supporters to stop throwing stones when others are campaigning in what they call their bedrooms. Let us all enjoy the freedom and democracy,” the vocal legislator posted on his official Twitter handle.

Past Kenya Kwanza rallies in perceived Azimio strongholds have been marred with violence, the latest one being the Jacaranda grounds rally in Embakasi East, Nairobi, in mid-June, where a convoy of the DP and other principles was stoned.
A similar incident was also witnessed in Kondele, Kisumu, when the Kenya Kwanza presidential candidate visited in November 2021.
But with successful visits to Bomet and Kericho, allies of the DP hope Odinga and his team have learnt to be politically tolerant.

“Raila in Bomet & Kericho yesterday, no stoning, no booing. Question is did he learn anything?. We are visiting Siaya, Kisumu & Migori soon,” Soy Member of Parliament Caleb Kositany also tweeted.
