Photos: County Secretary Leads Team in Hospital Renovation Works

Trans Nzoia County Secretary Truphosa Amere on Tuesday led a team of county staff and technical officers in renovating the Emergency Wing of Kitale Level Four Hospital.

Renovations are part of a wider scheme by Governor George Natembeya to improve primary healthcare systems.

CS Amere who blazed the trail, personally fixed the water sink and scrubbed the floor of the Emergency Wing room leaving it spotlessly clean even as she supervised other renovation works at the health facility.

The facelift included fixing of oxygen supply pipes, plumbing, installation of CCTV cameras, electrical wiring, tile fixing, carpentry as well as plastering.

All the works were carried out by the county staff with support from external technical persons in the various fields.

Health County Executive Committee Member (CECM) Pepela Wanjala who was also part of the team disclosed that the exercise will be ongoing for the next two weeks including in other facilities across the county.

CECMs and Chief Officers will be leading the exercise in the respective areas.

In addition, patients at the facility commended Governor Natembeya for sending his officers to lead the exercise from the front, exuding confidence that service delivery in the health sector will be scaled much higher with residents getting value for money.

Also present during the exercise were Senior Administrators Phoebe Buchunju, Tima Omar among other county staffs.
