The Uasin Gishu County Alcoholic Drinks Control Board on Sunday, September 15, 2024, witnessed a significant milestone after one of its clients flew out of the country.
Sammy Maiyo has been undergoing rehabilitation for the last few months.
He recently concluded the process, alongside several others at the Moiben Rehabilitation Centre.
To cap his successful rehabilitation, Maiyo secured a job in Dubai and the team from the board bid his goodbye at the airport.
“Sammy’s successful transition to employment in Dubai is a testament to the program’s effectiveness,” noted Alcoholic Drinks Control Board Director Koiya Arap Maiyo.
His family has also expressed their gratitude to both Governor Dr. Jonathan Bii Chelilim and Director Koiya Maiyo for their support and the opportunity for treatment.
Sammy was among two notable former addicts who completed their rehabilitation.
