Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii Chelilim has said that his administration will focus on staff capacity building.
The County boss spoke at his office on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, when he met the leadership and representatives of various worker’s unions and associations under the leadership of the Uasin Gishu Local Government Workers Union.
“We appreciate the role of worker’s unions in providing a platform for continuous engagement with the county administration to ensure staff welfare issues are addressed,” Chelilim said.

On his part, Uasin Gishu Deputy Governor Eng. John Barorot encouraged the union leadership to cultivate a win-win spirit where the workers pledge and commit to their deliverables as the government continues to improve working conditions and build staff technical capacities.
Organisations present during the meeting include Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentist Union (KMPDU), led by Dr Darwin’s Ambuka, National Nurses Association of Kenya (NAK) Caroline Chemoiywo, Uasin Gishu Nurses Welfare (Selly Melly) and Uasin Gishu chapter of Local Government Workers Union represented by Isaac Kiptalam.

During the meeting, the leadership of the worker’s unions and welfare promised to collaborate with the County leadership in ensuring there is always open engagement as opposed to go-slows and strikes.
