A public address system vehicle attached to Soy MP Caleb Kositany’s campaign team on Saturday caught fire in the middle of the road.
Videos of the pickup with the public address system up in flames have been circulating on various social media platforms.
Reports indicate the incident happened while the vehicle was on a campaign trail in Kapseret Sub County.
Kositany who is eyeing the Uasin Gishu gubernatorial seat has come out to explain the cause of the fire.
In a post on his Facebook page, the MP said the fire was a result of a faulty generator.
However, nobody was injured during the incident.
“My public address vehicle caught fire today due to a faulty generator. Everybody is safe, thanks to the Eldoret Airport Fire brigade & Uasin Gishu County fire department. We thank God,” said Kositany.
The gubernatorial aspirant also shared photos of the damaged vehicle.
With the changing technologies and political dynamics, public address vehicles are nowadays a necessity in every politician’s convoy.
