Soy Member of Parliament Caleb Kositany is among a host of politicians that have expressed interest to vie for the Uasin Gishu gubernatorial seat in 2022.
Kositany while officially joining the race a few months ago spelled out some of the areas that his government will be focusing on if elected the second governor of Uasin Gishu.
We take a look at key areas he has pledged to focus on:
All-inclusive government:
Kositany is alive to the fact that Uasin Gishu is a largely cosmopolitan county and says he will be focusing on ensuring everybody’s rights are respected, irrespective of ethnic, religious, or regional background.
Farmers/value addition
This is an area that the Soy MP notes is the most important. He is ready to enhance the capacity of farmers through relevant policies that will enable them to produce better crops and better quantities from their farms.

“We want farmers to venture into high-value crops like coffee, avocado, and macadamia,” Kositany notes.
The vocal legislator also believes that Uasin Gishu has the potential to be the largest producer of beef cattle aside from dairy farming.
Basically, the MP allied to Deputy President William Ruto says he is willing to transform Uasin Gishu County from where the current government under the leadership of Governor Jackson Mandago has managed to reach, and “take it over a step higher”.
Business
Kositany is also aware that business is the driver of any areas’ economy and has pledged to ensure a good working environment for businesspersons in all major urban centers, including the county’s capital – Eldoret town.
It is not yet campaign time and we expect the MP to roll out an elaborate agenda – detailing all he intends to do once he shares his manifesto to the people.
this is the right man to succeed Mandago
