Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii Chelilim has revealed that the county will be launching community health promoters this week.
The Health Promoters, Bii said, will play a critical role in assisting residents to access health care services at their door steps.
Speaking on Saturday as he lay foundation stone for Kapkeben Health facility in Kapsaos Ward, Turbo Sub County, the County boss reiterated that quality healthcare is his government’s priority.
“Health care services is the second pillar in my Nguzo Kumi manifesto because i believe in a healthy nation,” the governor said.

“With the laying on of the foundation, we mark the commencement of quality health care services in Kapkeben,” he added.
Bii had earlier inspected a county-funded water project nearby.
On his part, Kapsaos Ward Member of County Assembly, Isaac Samoei, urged the community to support the contractor in order to deliver quality works within the stipulated timelines.
Health Services County Executive Committee Member, Dr Abraham Serem, noted that the department will expedite the construction of the facility for services to begin as soon as possible.

Further, Water and Environment County Executive Dr Sam Kotut, said the department is in talks with the contractor to deliver the works in a week’s time, for commencement of second stage of connectivity to the community.
Present were Education County Executive Anthony Sitienei, Chief Officers Dr Joyce Sang (Clinical Services), Dr Paul Wangwe (Promotive and Preventive Health) and Elijah Koech (Water).
