The 100 per cent record of the Langas-based Espodec-Muhoroni Starlets in the FKF Upper Rift Women’s Regional League came to an end on Saturday.

Playing at their home ground – Hill School, Espodec hoped to make it four wins in a row since the league began.

But the visitors – Kipkare Starlets FC had other plans, taking the lead in the 37th minute.

In the second half, the Maurice Kamau-coached side chased for an equalizer only to suffer a setback after one of their players was sent off in the 60th minute.

They also move level on points with Espodec on the log with 9 points after 5 matches but have an inferior goal difference, having also played a game more.

Lack of concentration

We lost the match due to lack of concentration from the players,” coach Kamau told Uasin Gishu News.

Despite the red card, we controlled the game but failed to convert our chances. The opponents were also good. They converted the little chances they had into goals,” he added.
