The 100 per cent record of the Langas-based Espodec-Muhoroni Starlets in the FKF Upper Rift Women’s Regional League came to an end on Saturday.
Playing at their home ground – Hill School, Espodec hoped to make it four wins in a row since the league began.
But the visitors – Kipkare Starlets FC had other plans, taking the lead in the 37th minute.
In the second half, the Maurice Kamau-coached side chased for an equalizer only to suffer a setback after one of their players was sent off in the 60th minute.
Despite playing with one less, Espodec equalized in the 72nd minute.

However, Kipkaren Starlets snatched a late win, scoring deep into the stoppage time to ensure they went back with maximum points.
They also move level on points with Espodec on the log with 9 points after 5 matches but have an inferior goal difference, having also played a game more.
Lack of concentration
“We lost the match due to lack of concentration from the players,” coach Kamau told Uasin Gishu News.
“Despite the red card, we controlled the game but failed to convert our chances. The opponents were also good. They converted the little chances they had into goals,” he added.
Espodec Starlets travel away to Kamukunji Grounds to face Hannah Queens in their next league match.

In another FKF Upper Rift Women’s Regional League played on Saturday University of Eldoret (UOE) and Huruma Queens played out to a barren draw.
The game was played at UOE’s New Site grounds.
Huruma Starlets remains at the top of the league with 13 points – maintaining their perfect record.
