Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii has made changes to his cabinet.
A statement shared by the Director of Governor’s Press Sila Kosgey indicate that the changes were made on Monday.
They affect four County Executive Committee Members (CECMs) as well as two Chief Officers.
According to the statement, the cabinet changes are meant to enhance service delivery.
“In exercise of powers conferred to me under section 31 (b) (a) and section 45 (5) of County Government Act, 2012, I have today reassigned County Executive Committee Members and Chief Officers as indicated below…” read part of the statement.

Departments that have been affected in the changes are Education, Lands, Water, as well as Health.
Bii makes cabinet reshuffle
Education CECM Dr Janeth Kosgey exchanged dockets with her Lands counterpart Anthony Sitienei while Water’s Abraham Serem has been been reshuffled with Sammy Kotut of Health Services.
Here’s the list of the new dockets assigned to the four CECMs:
- Abraham Serem – Health Service
- Dr Janet Kosgey – Lands, Physical Planning, Housing and Urban Development
- Sammy Kotut – Water, Irrigation, Environment, Energy and Climate Change
- Anthony Sitienei –Education, Vocational Training and Social Protection

Two Chief Officers in the Health Services docket have also been reshuffled.
Dr Paul Wangwe who has been serving as the CO for Clinical Services has been moved to the Preventive and Promotion Health Services section while Joyce Sang is the new Clinical Services Chief Officer.
Sang has been serving as CO for Preventive and Promotion Health Services.

“The above changes are intended to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in delivery of public services,” the Governor said in the statement.
This is the first Cabinet change to be announced by Governor Bii since he was sworn in as the second county boss of Uasin Gishu in August 2022.
It also comes barely a week after President William Ruto also announced cabinet changes that affected 8 Cabinet Secretaries and several Principal Secretaries.
