Kamagut Residents Express Gratitude after Completion of Drainage Works

Community members drawn from Kuresiet village in Kamagut ward, Turbo Sub County have a reason to celebrate following the successful completion of key drainage system works in the area by the County Government of Uasin Gishu.

Led by their elders, Joseph Mang’ira, Michael Biwott and Evans Koech they explained how flooding in the area during heavy rainfall has been giving them sleepless nights for many years.

Accessing services at Trinity Mission Hospital was challenging during heavy rainfall, the compound could flood all over. We are grateful to Uasin Gishu Governor Dr Jonathan Bii and his administration for acting swiftly after listening to our cry. The work has been done efficiently and effectively and the problem is solved,” Mr Koech said.

The locals noted that during heavy rainfall flooding destroyed crops in farms, houses and road infrastructure due to poor drainage.

They added that after the excavation of the drain line and installation of Culverts along Leseru Station -Kuresiet-Chemalal Baharini road and also at the hospital, the project will have a lasting and positive impact on the health and quality of the residents.
