Nandi Governor Stephen Sang has unveiled his new cabinet, sacking three County Executives that served under his administration between 2017 and 2022.
Sang who is serving his second term after getting re-elected however retained five of his County Executive Committee Members (CECMs).
The retained CECMs have however been moved to other dockets.
“Pursuant to sections 30 (e) & 46 of the County Government Act 2012, the governor of Nandi has reorganized and reconstituted the county government departments. In furtherance of the same, the governor has retained the following County Executive Committee Members,” read part of the communication shared on the official Nandi County Government Facebook page.

Here is a list of the CECMs retained and the departments they will be heading;
- Bernard Kiplimo Lagat – Agriculture and Cooperative Development
- Ruth Cherotich Koech – Health and Sanitation
- Dr Philemon Kiptoo Bureti – Lands, Physical Planning, Housing, Environment, Water, Natural Resources and Climate Change
- Eng. Drice Kibet Rono – Transport, Public Works and Infrastructure Development
- CPA Alfred Kiprotich Lagat – Trade, Tourism, Industrialization and Enterprise Development
The five will continue serving in their respective dockets without needing vetting approval from the County Assembly.
However, the three new nominees will be required to go through the vetting process.
The three are;
- Hillary Kiptanui Serem – Finance and Economic Planning
- Isaiah Kiplagat Keter – Administration, Public Service and ICT
- Scolastica Jepkosgey Kemei – Education, Sports, Youth Affairs, Culture and Heritage.
