Uasin Gishu Health Services County Executive Committee Member Dr Abraham Serem has emphasized the importance of customer satisfaction.
He says customer satisfaction plays a crucial role in the implementation of quality and effective service delivery.
Speaking during an impromptu visit to Cheboin and Muiyengwet health facilities in Tembelio Ward, Moiben Sub County, Dr Serem noted that health services are meant to improve the well-being of individuals and communities.

Further, the CECM said customer satisfaction is a vital component in achieving this goal.
“When patients are satisfied with the health services they receive, it not only promotes their overall well-being but also encourages them to continue seeking medical care when needed thus leading to better health outcomes and a healthier community as a whole,” said Dr Serem.
Collaborative approach
The CECM who engaged with the staff and the community also challenged them to work together saying that a collaborative approach is crucial as it ensures that the needs of the patients are taken into consideration, resulting in improved service delivery.
“Having clients in your hearts means putting the needs and concerns of the patients at the forefront of decision-making processes. It means recognizing that healthcare is a service industry, and the satisfaction of the customers, in this case, the patients, is paramount,” added Dr Serem.
Clinical Services Chief Officer Dr Joyce Sang further insisted on healthcare providers having clients in their hearts by working on a duty roster.

She also noted that health facilities should always be left with an attendant even during the lunch hour to avoid patient inconvenience.
Moreover, the Chief Officer called on the health service providers to treat patients with empathy, respect, and dignity, a move she says will go a long way to creating a welcoming and comfortable environment for the community.
