PS Julius Korir Inspects Water Projects in Uasin Gishu

Water and Sanitation Principal Secretary Julius Korir on Saturday, October 3, 2026, inspected ongoing water and sewerage projects in Uasin Gishu, expressing optimism that the investments will expand access to essential services.

Korir inspected additional works under the Eldoret Sewerage Last Mile Connectivity Project, which is currently 50 percent complete.

According to the PS, the additional works are expected to serve up to 10,000 people and are scheduled for completion by December, expanding access to reliable sewerage services for residents of Eldoret and its environs.

He also inspected progress at the Kipkaren Water Supply Project, including the Oletebes Tank in Kapseret. The project is currently 80 percent complete.

Which areas will Kipkaren Water Project serve?

The Kipkaren project entails the completion of a conventional water treatment plant with a capacity of 24,375 cubic metres per day, alongside the construction of a rising main and storage tank.

Once complete, the project will channel treated water into the existing distribution network, improving supply to residents of Kapseret, Eldoret International Airport, Racecourse, Upper Elgon View and Langas in Uasin Gishu County, as well as Mlango, Lelmokwo and Mosoriot in Nandi County.

Korir said the projects will strengthen access to essential water and sanitation services and support improved living conditions for communities across the region.
