Traders in Kimumu/Bahati wholesale market are soon going to benefit from the construction of market sheds.
The sheds are meant to cushion the overspill of traders who are currently selling their goods outside the premise due to the huge population.
Speaking on Friday when she toured the facility, County Executive Committee Member for Trade and Cooperatives Martha Cheruto assured traders that the project is ready to start following handing over to the contractor.

The contractor who was present during the visit promised to take the shortest time possible to complete the construction of the sheds according to the plan.
Eng Cheruto was accompanied by Trade Director Kipleting Mengich, and trade officers Edwin Korir and Wycliffe Wesonga.
Investment policy
Meanwhile, the County Government of Uasin Gishu through the Department of Trade, Industrialization, Tourism, Investment, Cooperatives and Enterprise Development is developing an investment policy to attract investors into the county.
County Executive, Martha Cheruto, while speaking on Friday during Kenya Investment Authority (KenInvest) county forum on the pre-Kenya international investment conference, said the move is among the key objectives of the Governor in ensuring that the county positions itself as the most preferred destination.
She reiterated the County’s efforts of creating a one-stop shop that will see investors and business people obtain their business requirements under one roof as one of the initiatives of cementing investor confidence.

“We are also developing an industrial park and aggregation centres that will feed businesses with raw materials,” added Cheruto.
KenInvest engaged the business community in the creation of county investment units and restricted areas where foreign investors cannot trade in, among other aspects.
Market Shades? Does the writer perhaps mean Sheds?
