Turbo, Kapseret Sub County Offices Now Complete – Devolution CECM Kosgey

By Nelvin Biwott

Residents of Turbo and Kapseret sub-counties can now access Uasin Gishu County services closer to them. This is after the completion of construction works for sub-county offices in the two areas.

According to the Devolution, Administration and Public Service Management County Executive Elijah Kosgey, the locals from the two sub-counties will no longer need to travel to county headquarters to get county services.

In an interview with Uasin Gishu News at his office in Eldoret, the CECM further said that works on the other sub-county offices are now at 70% complete.

They are all expected to be fully functional at the end of the year,” Kosgey said.

Sub-county offices whose construction works are ongoing include those for Kesses, Ainabkoi, Moiben as well as Soy.

On the Memorandum of Understanding between the county and the Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation (REREC), the county executive said Ksh60 million has been set aside in the 2024/2025 Financial year for the installation of electricity.

The partnership, Kosgey said, will help also ensure residents in rural areas get access to electricity.

Governor Jonatha Bii early in January 2024 signed an MoU with REREC for various electrification projects in the six sub-counties.

Meanwhile, the Devolution boss said the county had allocated a substantial amount of money in a bid to connect the residents to Eldoret town which is about to be a city.

Already 1200km has been done,” he said.
