Uasin Gishu County Prioritizes Road Network Development in Spurring the Economy

Uasin Gishu Governor Dr. Jonathan Bii’s resolve to prioritize opening new roads, upgrading existing ones, and applying murram to improve the road network at the grassroots level is tremendously enhancing economic growth across the county.

During the development tour in Kesses Sub-County, Governor Dr. Bii emphasized the importance of the initiative after launching the grading and gravelling of the Koisagat-Lessos road in Tulwet-Chuiyat Ward.

My administration has prioritized road maintenance across the county. So far, we have successfully graded over 1700km and gravelled 700km of roads,” he said.

Governor Dr Bii added that the enhanced road network at the ward level is expected to ease transport, allowing farmers to move their goods to Eldoret City and other urban centres more efficiently.

Elsewhere, residents of Tapsagoi ward, Turbo Sub County, led by Joseph Serem, have expressed their gratitude to Governor Bii following the completion of the Kosachei-Chebarus Bridge.

In the past few years, we have lost at least four people who drowned in River Sosiani while trying to cross over the temporary footbridge we relied on for many years. Now we are safe and grateful to our Governor,” said Serem.
