Uasin Gishu County Government through the Department of Lands, Physical Planning, Housing and Urban Development is yet again a big beneficiary of Food Agriculture Organisation funding of various projects.
This undertakings include several projects among them , the establishment of a Modern day GIS Laboratory, Policy on Land Fragmentation and also Lands use and Development plans for various trading centres.

County Executive Committee Member for the Department Dr. Janeth Kosgei, together with Director Lands Ms. Nelly Jerotich, while receiving major equipments from FAO representative Ms. Lindah Opiyo and Council of Governors representative Mr. Evans Kipruto, noted that the GIS Laboratory would serve a great deal in ensuring that the maps are digitised for ease of access and management.
She emphasised the need to fast track the processes involved to see the success of implementation of the projects under FAO.

“FAO is a key programme that has brought us many beneficial projects. Today the team is here to set up and install equipments including desktops, projectors , map printers, furniture and screen that will enable the lab run in a few days,” said Dr. Kosgei
