Eldoret-based Gospel singer William Getumbe has come out to defend his decision to announce that she wants to take Tiktoker Njoki Murira as his second wife.
Getumbe has been a trending person for the last few days since he confessed to having feelings for the Tiktoker known for raunchy dances.
But amid mixed reactions to the Gospel singers’ announcement, he has now explained the reason he wants Njoki as a second wife.
In an interview with Uasin Gishu News, the singer said there’s nowhere in the bible that explicitly bans polygamy.
“Even in the new testament, Jesus never said he will chase away persons with more than one wife. It is just our own discrimination against such persons,” Getumbe said.
He pointed out that he wants Njoki as his second wife so that she can use her dancing skills in church.

Getumbe argues that dancing is a talent given to the TikToker by God and that she can utilize it in attracting more people to be saved.
“I want her to use the talent to dance in Churches. It’s a talent she got from God. I don’t think the dancing skills are from Satan,” noted the gospel singer.
“To me, it’s ok to marry her and be in church with her so that she attracts people to church and get saved through her dancing,” he added.
The singer who is also a counselling psychologist further argues that having a second wife helps in stabilizing marriage, especially during the menstrual period.
“I’m not saying it’s because of sexual desires that I want a second wife but it’s for the common knowledge part of it,” he said.
Most churches globally do not allow their members to be in a polygamous marriage.
The Gospel singer has also been involved in advocating for awareness of men that wear diapers due to health issues as well as environmental conservation.
Last month, he also registered a Foundation he hopes will help advance his sensitization mission.
