This is after the Uasin Gishu County Woman Member of Parliament Gladys Boss Shollei organized a free legal aid clinic.
The clinic which will be held at the Teachers Advisory Centre (TAC) in Eldoret will see locals get free legal advice on a variety of issues ranging from land disputes to inheritance and succession disputes.
Further, according to a poster shared on the County Woman MP’s official Twitter handle, 100 lawyers will be available to offer legal services to the locals.
“All residents with land disputes, trust, inheritance and succession disputes are welcomed,” read part of the poster.
“100 lawyers will be available,” added the poster.
As Kenyans will on October 20, 2022, be celebrating heroes and heroines, locals in Eldoret town will be having something more to celebrate about.
Being an Agricultural County, there has been a rise in land cases within Uasin Gishu which later necessitated the establishment of the Environment and Land Court in Eldoret town.
Further, the free legal aid clinic will be held at the same venue where top county government officials will be marking the 2022 Mashujaa Day.
Governor Jonathan Bii Chelilim and County Commissioner Dr Eddyson Nyale are expected to lead Uasin Gishu locals in marking the day.
Mashujaa Day, also known as Heroes’ Day (“mashujaa” is Swahili for “heroes”), is a national day in Kenya.
It is observed on 20 October as a public holiday to collectively honour all those who contributed towards the struggle for Kenya’s independence or positively contributed to post-independence Kenya.
