The new Kapkalacha Bridge being constructed by the County Government of Uasin Gishu to enhance road network in Tembelio Ward, Moiben Sub County is now 80 percent complete.
Addressing residents after an inspection exercise of the ongoing works, County Executive for Roads Eng. Joseph Lagat expressed satisfaction at the speed of implementation.
He further said the mandate of his docket is to ensure that quality projects are delivered within specified timelines as envisioned by the county boss to help improve livelihoods in line with the Nguzo Kumi agenda six plan which focuses on infrastructure development.

“We have successfully constructed over eight Box Culverts and Bridges which are among the many significant road projects to find a lasting solution in areas most affected. Besides grading and gravelling work, the other work has been installation of proper drainage systems,” Eng Lagat explained.
He added that Governor Jonathan Bii’s administration has made an outstanding achievement by completing major road projects including Joyland-Africana, RCEA Lamaiywet Box Culverts in Kapsaos Ward, Kosachei-Chemoru bridge in Tapsagoi ward, Turbo Sub County as well as Koisagat-Kapsabul bridge in Segero Barsombe ward in Soy Sub County, Ketiplong-Bindura Box Culvert in Tulwet Chuiyat Ward, and Seet-Chepyakwai Box Culverts in Ngeria Ward, Kapseret Sub County.
Josphat Kigen, a business man and resident of Tembelio said construction of the Bridge was a milestone in the area which has had overwhelming drainage system challenges leading to flooding along the roads thus hindering connectivity for residents of Kimoning and Kamokono villages during heavy rainfall.
