Pole! Wetangula Condemns Invasion of Kenyatta’s Northlands Farm

National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula has asked the police to investigate the invasion of the Northlands farm believed to be owned by the Kenyatta family.

Wetangula who spoke during a burial ceremony in Soy Sub County on March 28, 2023, said the invasion of the farm is an act that nobody should condone.

He also challenged the police to ensure the property of every Kenyan is protected irrespective of their political affiliation.

I first want to say sorry for the goons that attacked his (Uhuru’s) farm. The government has a duty to protect every Kenyan and their property,” Wetangula said.

That is an incident that nobody can condone. The Inspector General of Police should investigate and ensure the protection of properties for all,” he added.

The Kenyatta family’s Northlands farm was invaded on March 27, 2023, as the Azimio supporters and leaders were holding demonstrations in Nairobi.

During the invasion, the goons cut down trees and stole sheep from the vast land located along the Eastern bypass in Ruiru, Kiambu County.

Investigations launched

Police have already issued a statement noting that a probe into the incident has been launched.

The Office of the Inspector General of Police says individuals found culpable will face the full force of the law.

Meanwhile, Wetangula has challenged the retired President to ask the opposition to stop their demonstrations.

According to the former Bungoma Senator, ongoing protests were disrupting the government’s effort to work for the people.

We want to hear your voice as retired president. We want to hear you telling them (opposition) that they need to give room for peace,” said the National Assembly Speaker.

Further, he called on the opposition to allow the Kenya Kwanza government to deliver its mandate.

According to him, President William Ruto won freely and fairly against the former Prime Minister.

The opposition should give Ruto space to work for the country,” he said.
