Nandi Politicians Accuse MP Oscar Sudi of Attempting To Impose Leaders on Voters in North Rift

A section of Nandi political leaders have cautioned Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi against his attempts to impose leaders on locals in the North Rift region.

The leaders also accused the vocal MP of purporting to act as the overall spokesperson for the community and the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party in the region.

They condemned him for scheming to bring down trusted, promising and intelligent leaders from the community to run for certain positions.

Led by Aldai MP Hon Cornelly Serem, his Mosop counterpart Vincent Tuwei, and former Councilor Paul Kerich, the leaders expressed the need to stand with and defend leaders from the community who have demonstrated good leadership and continue to propel the interests of the community.

They maintained that political leaders who have a track record in development deserve community support in order for it (community) to grow further.

The leaders who spoke in Mosop Constituency, Nandi County during the wedding ceremony of Sharon Mololi and Nicholas Tuwei, son to area MP Vincent Tuwei, noted that Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago has proven maturity and stands out in the entire community as one who should be supported to succeed Deputy President Dr. William Samoei Ruto in future as the national leader from the community.

They added that political leaders who have branded themselves as the spokespersons of the community with powers to decide who to be elected to various political seats should stop and let the residents democratically decide on who they want.

Sudi has in the past said Mandago who is serving his last term as governor should shelve his senatorial bid and focus on campaigning for DP Ruto nationally.

The governor however insisted he is best placed to represent the county at the Senate.

Mandago who avoided politics during the ceremony called on young couples to use their professions and success to better their marriages.

He further noted that academic prosperity should not be a course to instability in any marriage, asking the young people not to desert their parents after marriage but uphold respect in their various societies.
