Natembeya Nominates County Commissioner to His Cabinet (Full List of Nominees)

Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya has named his cabinet, tapping into the experience of some of the individuals that served under him when he was the Rift Valley Regional Coordinator.

In a list shared on his official Facebook page on Friday, October 14, 2022, Natembeya has nominated among others former Trans Nzoia County Commissioner Samson Ojwang.

Ojwang was the Trans Nzoia County Commissioner during the August 9 poll and was among those that President William Ruto accused of being used by the state.

But after the elections, he was later transferred to Busia County.

Ojwang has been nominated to be in charge of Public Service Management.

Governor Natembeya’s cabinet is arguably ethnically balanced with most of the communities in the county represented.

The 10-member cabinet has four women.

List of Trans Nzoia CECMs nominees;

  1. Samson Otieno Ojwang – Public Service Management (PSM)
  2. Patrick Gicheru – Water and Environment.
  3. Janerose Nasimiyu Mutama – Land, Housing, Physical Planning and Urban development
  4. Jackson Wanyungu Amboka – Public works, Transport and Energy
  5. Dr Pepela Wanjala – Health
  6. Julian Kichwen – Education
  7. Boniface Wanyonyi – Finance and Economy
  8. Phanice Khatundi – Agriculture, Irrigation, Livestock and Fisheries
  9. Stanley Kirui – Trade, industrialisation, Tourism and Cooperative Development
  10. Chanelle J. Kittony – Gender, Youth, Sport and Culture

The County boss also nominated Truphosa Irene Owuor for the position of Trans Nzoia County Secretary.

Names of the nominees will now be forwarded to the Trans Nzoia County Assembly for vetting and consideration.

If approved, they will be sworn in to serve in their respective dockets.
