Uasin Gishu: Suppliers of Goods and Services Promised Prompt Payments

/

The County Government of Uasin Gishu has reiterated its commitment to fast-track prompt payment to suppliers of goods and services.

This is what the Department of Roads, Transport and Public Works says will enable the smooth implementation of infrastructure projects in line with Governor Jonathan Bii’s Nguzo Kumi manifesto.

Speaking during a meeting with engineers and inspectors from the roads section at his office on Tuesday, Roads County Executive Committee Member (CECM) Engineer Joseph Lagat said the delay in payment to suppliers will be avoided as they will support them, hence solving the problem of delays in the implementation of programs.

We have agreed to be making timely payments and support the suppliers of goods and services to the department to ensure successful implementation of the projects across the county,” noted Eng. Lagat.

Later, Eng. Lagat accompanied by Acting Chief Officer for Roads Eng. Julius Ronoh held a meeting with staff from the mechanical section where he also toured the County Yard to assess the state of the machinery and equipment.

CECM Lagat emphasized that they will enter into a framework contract with a supplier who is also a manufacturer of the county machinery thus enhancing repair work for efficiency and effectiveness in the implementation of road projects.
