Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi on Friday, June 3, 2022, hosted over 4,000 youth at his rural home in the constituency.
The youth were drawn from all the wards in the constituency.
Speaking during the meeting which he also used to popularize his re-election bid, the legislator challenged the youth to focus on building small enterprises, which he noted the Kenya Kwanza government will support.

The MP also challenged the youth to join Savings and Credit Cooperative Societies (Saccos) to enable them access credit from various government initiatives.
“Kenya Kwanza government will focus on empowering the youth through hustler fund and creation of employment. With unemployment being the main issue bedeviling our youth in Kenya, I asked Kapseret youth to be creative enough and begin building small enterprises since the incoming government will prioritize on their agenda,” Sudi said.
“I further urged them to register themselves in SACCOs and Cooperative Societies since they can only access credit though such channels. I committed to champion for their rights in the 13th Parliament,” he added.
Later in the day, the vocal legislator hosted a group of religious leaders from Langas and neighboring ward.

He said Kapseret being a cosmopolitan constituency, he will engage all communities.
“Kapseret Constituency is a highly cosmopolitan constituency where many communities coexist. I will preach peaceful coexistence among these communities even at the height of this electioneering period. I shall engage all communities on their priority needs and agenda,” Sudi said.
“I urge the church to play similar role in condemning divisive and tribal politics,” he added.
The MP was recently cleared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to participate in the August 9 general election.
He is seeking to be elected for the third consecutive term.
Oscar Sudi was first elected MP in 2013 on a United Republican Party (URP) ticket before he was re-elected in 2017 on a Jubilee party ticket.

In the upcoming poll, the legislator is flying the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket.
He is facing competition from number of candidates among them Frank Murgor, Pauline Tuwei and Steve Kewa, all vying on an independent ticket.
