Elgeyo Marakwet, Trans Nzoia MCAs Approve CECMs Nominees

The County Assemblies of Elgeyo Marakwet and Trans Nzoia have unanimously approved all nominations made by the respective governors for the County Executive Committee Members (CECMs).

Members of the two county assemblies voted to approve the nominees on Wednesday, November 2, 2022.

In an update on their Facebook page, the Elgeyo Marakwet County Assembly confirmed approval of the 10 CECMs.

The motion moved by The Leader of Majority, Hon. Steve Cheruiyot had the House unanimously adopt the report with all the ten (10) nominees getting approved,” it added.

Following their approval, the CECMs that are now set to be sworn in are;

  1. Monica Jeptum Rotich – Public Service, Devolution, Administration, Communications, ICT and Governance.
  2. Alphaeus K. Tanui – Finance and Economic Planning
  3. Edwin Kibet Seroney – Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries
  4. Edwin K. Kibor – Education and Technical Training
  5. Michael K. Kibiwott – Health Services
  6. Jason Kemboi Lagat – Water, Environment and Climate Change
  7. Thomas Kipkemboi Maiyo – Lands, Physical Planning, Housing and Urban Development
  8. Emmy Jerotich Kosgei – Roads, Public Works and Transport
  9. Robert Kangogo Kiptoo – Cooperatives, Trade, Industrialization, Tourism and Wildlife
  10. Purity J. Koima – Sports, Youth Affairs, Culture, Children and Social Services.

Further, Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya tweeted indicating that the County Assembly had also approved his CECM nominees.

The County Assembly of Trans Nzoia has today, 2nd of October 2022, approved the list of CECMs and County Secretary nominee that I presented to them. They will now shortly be sworn in to enable them start serving the county residents,” Natembeya tweeted.

He pointed out that the unanimous acclamation of the nominees was a powerful demonstration of the harmonious and cordial relationship between the Executive and County Assembly.

The County Assembly of Uasin Gishu also approved all the nominees proposed by Governor Jonathan Bii Chelilim.

They are set to be sworn in on November 3, 2022, at a function at the county headquarters.
